News Release from the City of Reno
The City of Reno plans to reopen Pat Baker Park in Ward 3 months ahead of schedule, after completing a major renovation project. The park has been closed and under construction since August of this year. It was originally scheduled to reopen in spring 2017.
The City of Reno invited the public to a holiday-themed grand reopening ceremony on Thursday, December 15 at 4 p.m. at the park, located at the intersection of Fife Drive and Montello Street in Reno.
“Pat Baker Park’s grand reopening is a great way to bring the community together to celebrate the new features and the holiday season,” Ward 3 Reno City Councilmember Oscar Delgado said. “The park is the heart of this neighborhood and the upgrades will bring a modernized light to the area. For years to come, Pat Baker Park will continue adding to the quality of life for children and families, and for that I am very proud.”
The newly renovated park has several new features including a multi-use sport court, water spray pad and fitness station. The renovation project included replacing the outdated playground and picnic shelter, and making landscaping and irrigation improvements.
